osha regulations?

i work at walmart and they tell us that we are not allowed to have any food or drink on the sales floor due to osha regulations. what i need to no is ARE we allowed to have private water bottles to carry with us while we work. we get so hot running around in that store. they say thats what the water fountains are for but the water is never cool and its always kinda gray and fuzzy.. you can teast the dirt and chemicals in the water.. so can someone give me a phone number or send me a copy of regulations regarding my question about being able to have water bolltes with us when we work..

they are paying you to work, not eat and drink in public view. allowing this is far too casual and surely against company policy, it's like you are taking a break every five minutes.....then a run to the bathroom......... sorry, no water until breaktime as far as OHSA is concerned.....this is stretching it.
No, you can't have water bottles with you while you work. If you spill some on the floor, there is a fall waiting to happen. If you are drinking you risk spilling it on yourself or a customer, or ruining a product. Plus, customers aren't allowed to have food and drink while shopping. I would hate to have to ask an employee a question and they are chugging down water, gross. Take the breaks if they offer you them. If you have to go to the break room every hour to get a sip, so be it. The store is air conditioned and I've yet to see a Walmart employee running around working.
