Does an H R Manager have access to occupational health files?
I am an occupational health nurse and the hr manager is insisting fot the keys to the medical records and it looks as if i could loose my job as I have refused him access

- Rule one: Your boss has access to everything you have access to! Patients have their own doctor for personal files, yours are "occupational"
- My partner says yes they do
- you should know as a health professional unauthorized access to medical records is illegal
- your HR Manager is not your line manager so he cannot fire you on a "misunderstanding" you needed to clarify with your line manager. HR though is entitled to have access to these records. Refusing though is not a reason for them to fire you.
- ASK the manager for the company procedure that entitles access and then follow all procedures
