OSHA and Policy on smokeless tobacco and no gloves?
Alright, I'm rewriting a training manual at work and I'm am having no luck on the OSHA site find policy on fines that may be placed on individual employees and those who don't report on smokeless tobacco and not wearing gloves in a medical office. Anything you can help will be most helpful! Thanks.

- I could get you a cup of coffee if it would help.
- That's because I do not believe that OSHA levies fines on individuals. It is up to each establishment to set into place a policy for compliance and penalties for non-compliance.
- OSHA has no rules about fining people for smokeless tobacco. If your work place has fines for smokeless tobacco or not reporting smokeless tobacco, that is purely something of their own choice and not a work place safety matter. See OSHA is involved in smoking, as second hand smoke is a health hazard which can endanger other workers. Smokeless tobacco has no impact on anyone who is not using it, thus is not an OSHA issue. Wearing gloves in a medical office would come under this. This web page cites the statutes http://www.osha.gov/SLTC/etools/hospital/hazards/bbp/bbp.html Now as to fines that your workplace choses to impose on people for not following these practices, that isn't mandated by OSHA, but is a policy of the company.
- You cannot find it in any OSHA manual because it is not a part of their job. OSHA covers unsafe practices that could harm employees. You are looking for business practices that are placed by the owner of the business.
