What other occupational health and/or safety laws are there other than OSHA?
I'm writing an essay and we're supposed to include an occupation health and/or safety law but it can't be OSHA. I've been searching, but all I can find is information on OSHA... :(

- Try CoSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) that's a fascinating topic. http://www.hse.gov.uk/coshh/
- Look under Hazmat or DOL. We only enforce laws if another government agency does not have a standard for a specific hazard. There are ANSI standards, but they are not law, just recommendations
- Just about every gov't agency has their own safety standards, USACE-US Army Corp of Eng.(which is numbered EM-385.1) DOE-Department of Energy, NAVFAC-Naval Facilities, USCG-US Coast Guard (33 CFR), and MMS-Mineral Management Service. And then if you look beyond our borders you have Worksafe Victoria, HSE-Health Safety Executive (UK). Lots of countries take OSHA and adopt it, the Middle East for example operates this way. And if you look at national consensus standards they deal a lot with safety: API-American Petro Institute, ASME-Amer. Society of Mechanical Engineers, NFPA-National Fire Protection Agency, ANSI, NSC-National Safety Council. Actually if you check 1910.06 Incorporation by reference there are plenty of other standards that have the weight of law. One off the bat is ANSI B30.5 (1967) for cranes. Hope this info helps
