Are company occupational health appointments compulsory to attend?

I have been off as I have had a miscarriage, my company wants me to attend a occ health appointment, my GP is not happy with this as he believes going over old ground will not help my recovery at all and I am in the early stages of pregnancy again (and high risk), especially as my work place has made it worse by putting pressure on me. Is it compulsory for me to attend, or can I decline or get a note from my GP to decline?

1. I would find out for certain if it was, but I think there must be a way out of it somehow, especially if your doctor thinks it's unhealthy for both you and the baby. Talk to the HR department at your job and explain what is going on.
