Do liberals have any idea how many jobs are lost due to OSHA regulations?

Being the wealthy owner of a sweat shop that makes chocolate candies for the upper crust I have been forced to equip my machines with costly mechanisms to insure my workers safety. Many of these workers had their employment terminated by me because I could no longer afford to pay them because i had to be concerned with a healthy working environment. Now they are dying on the streets due to starvation.

1. OSHA regulations also save lives. Wow - without workers - you won't be a wealthy owner for very long.

But to address your concerns, I doubt very much there is a sweatshop in the US that fits your description, unless it is one of the underground ones that imports illegal aliens for the purpose of forced labor. Of course, those illegal aliens and their slave masters are supported by the liberals so are not touchable. Try creating an honest discussion and maybe people will take you seriously or listen to you. Frankly, the times I've tried to get OSHA involved in a truly abusive situation they sat on their hands and did nothing. In my mind, OSHA is just another useless government bureaucracy that wastes a lot of time and money.

6. This is no joke. This is THE reason why free trade will ALWAYS cause a 'giant sucking sound of jobs leaving the country." For over 100 years, American workers and citizens have won great protections to respect their human rights. We have workplace safety laws, consumer protection laws, and environmental protection laws. That's what has made the quality of life so much higher in the USA for so many years. But all these protections cost money. Other countries do not give their citizens the same protection, which is the reason why USA companies will never be able to compete with foreign sweatships on a cost basis. So thanks to free trade, the unsafe polluting unscrupulous foreign sweatshops can go to work taking all our jobs, and nobody wants to stop them. Eventually, we will be forced to abaondon all these protections we take for granted today, just to keep any job at all. Free trade is the fundmental cause of the economic problems we have today. We will never end our problems until we end free trade.
7. It is one thing to be against greedy unions, but to say we shouldn't have labor laws goes too far.
