- Yes I believe you are talking about what I do for a living. My job is to enforce safety rules and regulations set by OSHA and the federal government. Basically it is to ensure workers safety. If I enter on to a work site, and and see workers putting them selves in danger or employers putting their employees at risk, I will usually stop the work being preformed and could issue a fine for breaking safety procedures. Unfortunately, many workers are hurt or even killed on the job for not following safety regulations on the job. When a serious injury or accidental death takes place on the job site, OSHA is the agency that will do the accident investigation to find the cause of the incident. Also, If a worker feels their job is putting his/her health or safety in jeopardy, OSHA can be called in to investigate the possible hazards the workers filed a complaint about. I hope this helps.
