Osha regulations on miners?
So i have a new job and my boss was ok with me driving a pub (gulf cart type thing) and a bobcat (also like a pub, has a flatbed in the back, is not for digging just for hauling) untill he realized that it might be against osha's regulations. Can anyone find the rule that states that i am not/ that i am allowed to drive these carts. I live in Minnesota and am 17. I would not call this "heavy machinery" and think gulf cart, i dont think there is a certification

- You have to be a legal adult to operate heavy machinery.
- It would be against regs if you were not first properly trained to drive those machines. BTW, its "golf", not "gulf".
- As a miner you are more likely covered under MSHA rules. But you could also be covered under state laws regarding child labor as well since you are under 18. http://www.msha.gov/REGSINFO.htm I just realize when you said miner, you may have minor (under 18), in that case OSHA as well as state child labor laws apply.
