Security PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)? Forgot to add that i'm in Ontario Canada if that makes a difference... I am working for one employer and they are VERY picky and constantly tell me I can't wear my duty belt with any of my glove cases, handcuffs etc.... Thanks for the input! P.S. The radio holders that they require us to wear are designed for my duty belt (2 1/2") but they only provide us with a 1" belt to hold it.

In fact, it’s unlikely that we can ask our customer drivers to compensade for the Loss or damage or the state of the personal protective equipment (PPE) despite of exchanging our new issued PPE with old ones belonging to the contractors inside the plant at their own discretion during the time of borrowing the PPE. It would be very much appreciated if you coud assist us in counseling how to prevent or tackle the impending problem.

What do you think U.S. agents ordered not to wear masks-Mexican agents ordered to wear masks? Mexican Immigration Officials Required to Wear Anti-Flu Face Masks at U.S.-Mexico Border Crossings Tuesday, April 28, 2009 By Edwin Mora Mexican Immigration officials, wearing surgical masks, work at the US-Mexico border crossing in Tijuana, Mexico, Monday, April 27, 2009. (AP photo)(CNSNews.com) - Mexican immigration officials on the U.S.-Mexican border say they have been required to wear face masks whether swine influenza poses a threat or not. Meanwhile, on the U.S. side of the border, it is up to the discretion of Customs and Border Protection officials whether to wear masks to protect themselves against the flu. “It’s a general requirement to wear face masks all over the country whether there is or there isn’t (swine flu),” a spokesman from the Mexican National Institute of Migration, told CNSNews.com in Spanish. The organization controls and supervises the Mexico-U.S. border and emigration. “The reason why immigration officials are wearing face masks is because of a general requirement for all offices to wear them,” he added, “whether there is or there isn’t danger of contamination.” Mexico’s health secretary recommends that if there is any danger of coming close with someone infected with swine flu to, “use rigid face masks, but if you don’t have the means to obtain one to use regular face masks or a piece of cloth to cover the nose and mouth.” In the U.S., the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the nation’s disease sentinel, recommends “cover(ing) your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.” The federal government has not requested that U.S. immigration officials wear protective gear against the swine flu. “CBP [Customs and Border Protection] officers and Border Patrol agents are provided personal protection gear, which they may utilize at their discretion,” Kelly Ivahnenko, a spokeswoman from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection told CNSNews.com. The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes gloves and surgical N95 respirator masks, “which are readily available for use in the course of their duties,” she added. http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=47254
Will I contract herpes from changing linens from clinical? I'm studying nursing, and durning clinical I was caring for a patient who had herpes. 'The tools and equipment needed to make a copper frame' 500 word essay.? Could anyone read over this and tell me if it makes sense, and am currently at 497 words, so if anyone could tell me any more words, or even a new paragraph. This essay has to have more than 500 words. The tools and equipment needed to make a copper frame Personal protective equipment also known as PPE is mandatory. Hard hat, safety steel-toe cap boots, clear safety goggles, safety gloves, safety ear protectors and dust mask all come under personal protective equipment. Personal protective equipment is there for your safety. The tools and equipment needed to make a copper frame are fairly simple to use. Before you start to use the tools and equipment, make sure you know what assignment you are doing and you know how to use the tools and equipment provided to you, if you are not sure how to use the tools and equipments ask your tutor for advice. The main tools and equipment you will need for the job is; a long length of fifteen millimetres (15mm) of copper pipe, copper fittings (copper elbow and copper tee), a small hacksaw, solder and flux, a pressure tester and a tape measure. Copper fittings are joints that can connect pipes together; a copper elbow fitting has two ends which can connect up to two copper pipes together. A tee fitting has three ends which can connect up to three copper pipes together. When using a small hacksaw, make sure you check the blade for any faults, make sure your fingers are nowhere near the pipe or in between the hacksaw frame, this could lead to cutting the flesh of your fingers, or in the worst case your fingers being cut off. A tape measure is used to measure the pipes accurately, measuring a pipe without a tape measure will not give you the accurate measuring of the pipe. When connecting copper pipes together, make sure the ends of the pipes, and inside the fittings are clean from dirt, by using a piece of wire wool or a clean damp cloth. Before cutting, filing, soldering and measuring make sure the work area is clean and tidy enough to work on, if the work area is not clean enough this may prevent people from using the equipment correctly. When soldering, clean the end of each pipe using wire wool or a clean damp cloth, apply flux on the end of the pipes you are going to be soldering, heat the copper pipe up for about 30-40 seconds, then apply the solder, the flux on the end of the pipe should allow the solder to travel around the pipe, to form a tight sealed joint. (capillary action) A pressure tester tests if there are any leaks in the copper frame, first thing you do when using a pressure tester is fill the pressure tester with water, make sure to seal off all open ends incept one on the copper frame, the end that is not sealed off is then attached to the hose of the pressure tester, when everything is checked and ready, pump the handle of the pressure tester and then visual check for any leaks, keep in mind if the water is not rushing out rapidly, it does not mean there are no leaks.

Can I sue these apartments? Do I have a case???? LEGAL EXPERTS please respond? The apartment complex where I work has messy areas and unsafe work conditions, they do not even provide PPE (personal protective equipment) except for maybe some headphones. I happen to be working outdoors, and their blower leaks gas and oil down my back shirt and lower pant legs area. Is there any way I can sue for damages to my health or otherwise unsafe work conditions in this scenario? I am concerned about my safety and want to leave, but I don't want to walk away empty handed if my health has been endangered by these bastards. I have all the keys being that i work there and can easily come in early before anyone else and take some quick pictures of these areas as well as the gas shed where the blower is kept. The property management company is a corporation that runs the apartments day-to-day via office and maintenance staff, the property itself is kept in an LLC, I know this from the various income statements we are each given during meetings.
Can my boyfriend tell his boss he won't work under unsafe conditions? My boyfriend is stock personnel. He works at Zellers, I don't know if this matters or not. Lately, his supervisor has been making him scrub shelves, floors, etc. in this one smaller back roo. I saw his hands after day one, and even with the gloves he was wearing, his hands looked terrible. Today i got a text message from him asking if there was some way he could refuse work because of unsafe conditions. Unfortunately I can't find much on the MB labour law website. I figure he may be able to - what with the amount of industrial cleaner, the enclosed space, and maybe even improper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment, and because all he is wearing is a pair of latex gloves). Does anyone have an idea? Can my boyfriend actually say he will not work in these conditions?
CNA Skills, should I continue? I got this Nursing assistant book from the library to study that has 84 skills in it. Im not in school yet, it starts at the end of next month. I started studying it learned the first 7 so far. But I was wondering. The class is only 3 weeks long, can a person really learn all 84 skills? Some of the skills I studied so far and remember are: handwashing, Applying personal protective equipment, removing PPE, Serving a meal in a isolation unit, measuring vital signs in a isolation unit, transferring nondisposable equipment outside of an isolation unit, Specimen collection from a patient in a isolation unit. All the skills about isolation unit, I cant find on the internet. Should I continue to study this book or wait till I get the class workbooks?
what are the consiquences of....? not following the following individual regulations? Food Hygiene Regulations 1995, Food Safety Act, 1990, Manual handling Operations Regulations, 1992 Personal Protective Equipment at work regulations, (PPE) 1992
Can I wear sunglasses at work? I work outside all day. My employers don't allow me to wear sunglasses as they say "Sunglasses loses sales". This to me is rediculas. I am living in Ireland so does anyone know the law to wearing them outside at work? I have found this under 'S.I. No. 272/1993 — European Communities (Personal Protective Equipment) Regulations, 1993.' (3) PPE of simple design means PPE whose designer assumes the user can for himself assess the level of protection provided against the minimal risks concerned the effects of which, when they are gradual, can be safely identified by the user in good time being PPE which is intended to protect the wearer against: ( a ) mechanical action whose effects are superficial (gardening gloves, thimbles, etc.), ( b ) cleaning materials of weak action and easily reversible effects (gloves affording protection against diluted detergent solutions, etc.), ( c ) risks encountered in the handling of hot components which do not expose the user to a temperature exceeding 50 degrees centigrade or to dangerous impacts (gloves, aprons for professional use, etc. ), ( d ) atmospheric agents of a neither exceptional nor extreme nature (headgear, seasonal clothing, footwear, etc.), ( e ) minor impacts and vibrations which do not affect vital areas of the body and whose effects cannot cause irreversible lesions (light anti-scalping helmets, gloves, light footwear, etc.), or (f) sunlight (sunglasses). So If I brought this to my employer do they have to go by it? They have provovided us with sun caps however we work with Camras and these hats are impractical as the flash on top of the camra is in the way. Thanks for reading, sorry it is rather long. Lisa
Your wording (version) of this email to make it perfect sense would be greatly appreciated? Dear All, I can understand your point completely and do have same feeling myself. The situation is not just now but two weeks ago. Some actions have been undertake as described below: Order 100 sets of PPEs (personal protective equipment) to have enough spares when we need to clean them by washing. We have just received them except the hard hats which supposed to be by the end of this week. Looking for 3rd providing service of washing the PPE, at least 1 per week. Looking for long tern best way for payment of petrol support to the security since they have to move to and fro 80-100 round to transport PPE fro main gate to security point near the customer drivers’ canteen. Looking for tissue tockings to use as disposal PPE. You couldn't imagine how terrible the shoes are just after a week leading to strongly complaint from the drivers. Supervisory re-enforcement ==> this is still an issue and by the way we would need help. Is it possible to assign Epstein for ideally two weeks to enforce the drivers? or would you have any other idea for this please advice. Yours sincerely Full name
Do I have any legal course of action? Okay, I was living on my own when my father approached me about financing a new pickup for him in my name. Apparently, he couldn't get the financing because of a judgment that was levied against him, stemming from my parents' divorce. I was hesitant at first, but I decided that it would be a safe bet. He appeared to be doing well, seemingly not having any financial difficulties. Little did I know... I agreed to it with the stipulation that he would let me move in to his house, just so I'd have the extra money to play around with since I wouldn't be paying rent. So we make a purchase with financing obtained by me...he made the down payment and we were on our way. When the first payment came due, he didn't make it. Obviously, my hand was forced to make the payment and he said he'd "get straight" with me in a couple weeks. Fast forward one month and, again, he failed to make the payment, so I was forced to make it again. Come month three, I confront him and tell him that he needs to make this payment and pay the last two payments back to me. He then tells me that I should consider myself lucky because he's providing housing rent-free, to which I tell him that my "rent" was my willingness to get him into a new pickup. I then "repossessed" the pickup and he "repossessed" my housing by kicking me out. I had just started a new job which requires extensive Personal Protective Equipment (hardhats, steel-toes, etc.) Without that equipment, we are not allowed on the job site and can not work. Well, when he kicked me out, he literally slammed the door in my face and told me that I could not retrieve any of my belongings, PPE included. I had only been with my new company for a little over a week when this happened and they had a standing policy that pretty much said that if you had an absence within the first two weeks, for ANY reason, you were gone. So....I lost both my roof and my job in a matter of two days, all because my "father" kicked me out of his house because I was trying to collect a debt. So I moved in with my sister in a neighboring state and have continued to look for good, gainful employment. It just so happens that I was forced to move to an area that is hurting pretty bad economically and it is very hard to find employment of any kind. I'm struggling very terribly, like many, to make this damned pickup payment. Unfortunately, I'm married to it and I have grown to need it in my job search. In conclusion, my father yanked my "foundation" from beneath me, taking my housing and, essentially, my job - my lively hood, my ability to pay bills, etc. So what I'm wondering is, is there any legal course of action that I can take to force him to make this right? I don't have the slightest problem with taking him to court if I have a solid case against him. The man kicked me out of his house and stole my lively hood after I generously financed a new pickup for him. So now, I squeeze by, day to day, trying to obtain gainful employment, while I hear about him and my step mom taking these ridiculous vacations and her having all this fancy shit in their new house. Can you sense my bitterness??? I know that there will never be a relationship between us, so I'm not "scared" of losing my father in a legal battle. I just want to know if there is a legal way to make him make things right. Thanks for your time...

BPs response to not allowing workers to wear respirators! peole are already sick! how do you feel about BPs? cover up? and lack of care for the workers? this is their response letter stating why they believe respirators should not be given out The Unified Area Command is committed to stopping the oil spill, cleaning the gulf and restoring normal business in the area affected. Our highest priority is worker safety. The Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have assessed the risk and provided information on workplace safety and health for these responders; the guidelines can be found at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/oilspillresponse/protecting/ The primary means of controlling airborne exposures to harmful dusts, fogs, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays, or vapors is always to prevent, control, or remove the atmospheric contamination. In situations when exposures cannot be otherwise controlled, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, may be needed. Based on air monitoring data collected to date, exposures to hydrocarbons, dispersants and other hazardous chemicals are below established occupational exposure limits. In most situations that have been examined to date, mandatory wearing of respirators is not required. That said, respirators will be provided to response workers engaged in the source control activities and for vessels involved in burning crude oil. These respirators are provided as part of a comprehensive respiratory protection program. Respirators only need to be worn when air-monitoring results indicate an elevated level of air contaminants, or when professional judgment determines there is potential exposure, or when workers are reporting health effects or symptoms. Even when comprehensive and routine air monitoring indicates that no inhalational hazard exists, an employer may permit respiratory protection to be worn voluntarily by employees provided it will not in itself create a hazard. At this time, where air monitoring does not indicate a need, respirator use is voluntary and not recommended. The only situation where voluntary use may be helpful is when an individual is bothered by non-hazardous levels of hydrocarbon odor and cannot be relocated to another work area. In that case, a carbon-impregnated odor-reduction filtering facepiece respirator may provide some odor reduction potential—and can be worn voluntarily without the employer having to implement a respiratory protection program. These types of respirators do not provide health protective effects; they only provide odor reduction. Wearing any respirator will have adverse effects on breathing, vision and communication, will result in some discomfort, and may cause additional physiological stress. Wearing respirators, protective clothing, and other forms of PPE in hot environments can accelerate the onset of heat stress and exhaustion. Responders using any form of PPE, particularly dermal PPE, should be monitored for signs of heat stress, and take heat stress precautions (i.e., water, shade, rest) as needed. When workers have concerns about environmental conditions, they are instructed to stop the job and call an occupational safety and health professional to evaluate the environment. If the occupational safety and health professional determines that there is a potentially hazardous exposure or if workers are reporting health effects or symptoms, workers are instructed to move out of the area until the workplace is judged to be acceptable, or they may be instructed to utilize approved respiratory protection. For more information on health risks associated with oil spill response cleaning efforts, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/oilspillresponse/.
