question about occupational health and safety jobs? Does anyone know any of the top paying companies with employees that have degrees in environmental health and safety with their salaries and positions. I am looking more towards the occupational safety rather than environment. Also jobs other than osha, but learning osha's salaries for different positions wouldn't be bad. Thank you for everyone who took the time to read this!

Can Occupational Health where I work (in NHS) make HR find me a more suitable job so it doesnt affect health? I am talking about mental health. I have only been here a few weeks. I am working on reception which makes my anxiety and depression worse. I went to the Occupational Health counsillor yesterday. I do not want to quit. I just don't want to work in reception. I also could have put up with it until the boss told me it does not look good to look so anxious on reception. I cannot help how my emotions go.

Are there a lot of jobs these days in for public health majors out there? I am a Junior at CSU Fresno. I was majoring in Biology but i recently changed my major into Public Health with Community Health option. My question is that after I get my bachelors in two years, will I be able to get a job or not? Please share your experiences and suggestions as well. One more question: there are two options here in my school for Public Health majors. One is Community Health and the other one is Environmental and Occupational Safety. Which one pays more and easy to get a job in?
What are sports-related jobs in the health field? ? some i've thought of and heard from looking answers up are physical therapy, occupational therapy, and athletic trainer. how are pt and ot related to sports (i know it's regaining motor activity, ot is more daily from what i read, but other than that), and are there any other jobs that you can think of that are related to sports and health science? Thanks!!!

Who hires occupational health person to asses you if you have been absent from work due to long term sick. the owner has a HR person who has asked for permission to access medical records but owner says it is mums job to hire an occupational health person, not hers or the hr persons

Anyone here in Environmental or Occupational Health or Pathology? Like your job...brag about it to me. I am a Biology major at one of the east coasts top schools for medicine. How will Obama's healthcare plan affect Occupational Therapists? I am planning to start graduate school next year and obtain my Occupational Therapy degree. However, recently a physical therapist informed me that if Obama's health care plan is passed Occupational Therapy jobs will be drastically cut if not eliminated. This is the first time I've heard anything about this and was wondering if anyone had some additional information. I have noticed that there are many more openings for physical therapists than OTs.
So what can Occupational Health do? Can they move me to another job or sack me? When I applied for this job I also had to fill out an occupational health form, which I did. And I mentioned my anxiety problems but they hired me despite this. But my anxiety is really bad. Its not the workload at all, only the part where I have to work on reception. I went to the doctor who said I should speak to the occupational health doctor so I'm going to try and get hold of them. If I have to quit I will but not without considering my options. I'd rather that they dismiss me than me dismiss myself. I work in the NHS so I don't know how their occupational health operates. I know private companies can be more harsh. Thank you Holly. I have already seen an occupational health councellor who suggested I give the job 3 months before leaving. She thinks a customer service enviroment might not be for me.
I have a letter from my occupational health department...? Hi I was wondering if anyone had been summoned to their occupational health department for a meeting? I have recently started a new job within my company. I have been working for them in another role for four months now. I have not been off sick in this job. I'm quite worried about it as I love the job I'm in. I was off with depression in my last job so maybe it's something to do with that, I don't know. What do you think it'll be like? Do they want to catch me out?
So if I leave my job due to health reasons as stated by the doctor, do I have to mention why in interviews? If they ask in the interview can I say "that is something I would not mind discussing with occupational health"?
occupational health and safety officer? I was looking at doing a diploma of occupational health and safety officer and was wondering what does the job entail? What are the pay rates like in Australia?
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH PRE-EMPLOYMENT QUESTIONNAIRE.........? Hi guys, can an NHS employer refuse you to give a job on the basis of your Occupational Health Pre-Employment questionnaire???If I take antidepressant and anti anxiety medications can this be the case??? any experience?? thank u in advance xxx
Occupational Health and Safety vs Speech Pathology? Hi all. I'm contemplating what to go CSU Fresno for when I transfer next year's spring. I will be taking out loans to pay rent, tuition etc and I was thinking that if I study Communicative Disorder (Speech Pathology), I might not be able to get a job after I graduate until I finish my masters, plus, to get in, its very competitive. For Occupational Health and Safety, I could get a job after I graduate but I'm not really sure I would like much of a profession that deals with lab work. What do you guys think? Also compensation benefit between the two, which would pay off in the long run? Thanks
Occupational Health Questionnaire? I have been offered a job which requires me to complete an occupational health questionnaire to be returned to the occupational health service. I have had a history of depression where I was seen by psychologists and psychiatrists and treated with anti-depressants. This was years ago now, and I feel hesitant to indicate on this form that I have suffered depression in the past. I have lost out on job previously because of mentioning my history with depression, and I don't want to miss out on this job. I'm much in control of my depression now and believe it will not affect my ability to carry out my job. Can I lie and not mention my history of depression or will the occupational health service have access to all my medical records and thus find out my medical history anyway? P.S. The job is an administrative role for a well known medical professional body. Also, what I answer will not be seen by my prospective employer, I am told - only whether or not I am fit for the job.
I am graduating with a health Science Degree and going on to grad school for occupational therapy? I would like to work a job where I can get some experience in the field I am going into but I was curious what jobs part time or full time I could apply for to help me work in a similar area.
I got a new job and I'm not paid for required Meetings & Classes, why? Also, they make me pay for the classes. The times for these take anywhere from 2 - 8 hours of my nonworking days. This is a Health Occupational job but I've worked at fast food and they paid for all this. Are they trying for extra cash or is this legal?
What is the real benefit when study Occupational, safety and health programme in our daily working life? When you possess this qualification, is it easier for you you to obtain a job in this related field. What is the future prospect on this field. Is it on great demand in the world market on this type of qualification and experince?
What should I put on an occupational health questionnaire? I have just been informally offered a job and will need to fill out an occupational health questionnaire. I have a history of mental illness and have been off work for the past year (although on my CV I said to care for a family member). I was initially diagnosed with bipolar disorder but have subsequently been told I don't have it. However, I have definitely been depressed and do suffer from bad anxiety. I want to say 'NO' to all questions on the health form, however, I am worried that they might for some reason check and if they do I will be found out and lose my job which I desperately need to get my life back on track. If I say 'YES' to questions regarding my mental health, even if I say just depression and anxiety, will this mean they won't give me the job? Can someone withdraw an offer of employment if I have depression and anxiety? I am really not sure what to do. Can anyone advise me?
pregnant and occupational health form.......? I attended a job interview on wednesday for a nhs cleaning job, yesturday i got a phone call to say i am through to the next stage which is just a tick box occupational health form. I am 6 weeks pregnant and on the form it asks if I am pregnant is this going to affect them offering me a job. I am in the uk
Occupational health check in the NHS? I am applying for jobs in the NHS, But worried about the Occ Health checks that they do. If you have attempted suicide, self harm, have depression/anxiety do they not employ you? I have previous problems (around a 1 n half ago) but have been on meds n have been stable (and planning to go to the docs to reduce meds in the next week - will this make me unsuitable because I'm still on meds/reducing meds). Thanks for any help. On the application forms I have put no mental/physical problems because technically I have recovered and they aren't any - but do you still have to declare them? And will they be a meeting with a nurse when they find out? I'm so confused/scared about it.
Student Loan repayment, health? What is the website where u can work jobs at specific locations so the government would help u pay off ur loan. (health related jobs...occupational therapy)?
Occupational health overruled gp's fitness for work certificate is this legal? I am just wondering if I could get some help and advice with regards to returning to work if occupational health have said you are fit but your fitness to work statment from my GP had not lapsed. I was back to work before the fitness for work had lapsed. I suffer from post natal depression and was signed of as being unfit for work by my GP for 4 weeks, my health visitor who had been seeing me also agreed. I had been reviewed by GP, medication changed and another 'sick line' for 4 weeks was given (as she thought I was still unift to return to work). Just a couple of days after this i was reviewed by the trust Occupational Health Nurse. She bascially said it was 'lifestyle and social issues' and that being back to work would be beneficial to me. She made feel pressurised to return to work even though I had explained that I was still having problems. Post this just a couple of hours later I had my ward manager on the phone to me saying that I have been declared fit to work and when could I be back on duty. I was shocked about this and felt that I was being made go back too soon, but as I was told that Occupational Health had declared me fit I was to be back. So because of this I did not disagree or argue with her as she was my senior and ward manager. Since then I have seen my GP who has disagreed with her decision and has also said I should not of been back to work as he had not signed me off to be back. He has now given me a further signing off for being unfit for work for 2 weeks. I dont know what to do as I am concerned what implications this will have to me, my job and with my ward manager. I am totally confused and very upset with this situation and I would just like some information and help to see if there is anything i can do or what is right and what isnt.
Physical therapy assistant/occupational health schooling? I'm 26 years old and thinking of going back to school to becoming a physical therapy assistant or working in occupational health. I currently have my associate's degree in criminal justice and working as a full time police officer. I've went to physical therapy a couple times for injuries and just like the job atompsphere and spoke to several different employees who enjoy their job. It also seems like a career that is a bit more laid back then my current career. My question is how long would i have to go back to school for this type of career? I don't really have the means to support myself for a long period of time without income so I am thinking about trying to get a part time police job in my area as they hire a lot of part time officers where I live in all my surronding boroughs and moving back home with the parents for a bit. I know I would have to go to clincials and such but as for the college schooling what would I be looking at time wise? Would my credits from my criminal justice assosciates carry over for the basic classes or would i have to completely earn the 120 credits again? I live in Pennsylvania if that helps at all.
NHS Occupational Health Screening Process and Outcomes? I am starting a new job in a sexual health clinic soon, and on my pre employment health questionnaire I had to put that I suffered from bi-polar and in my current job, i have had 2 panic attacks, this is because of the people i work with and the way i am treated, but im worried if i explain this to OH at my new job they will deem me unfit to work there. i am on medication for it. can anyone enlighten me on the process, and my rights, and what to tell them when i have my screening?
I have been asked to sign a consent to an occupational health report at work...? I have been struggling with my training but I have been told by my managers that I need to give it time and eventually I will learn everything about the job. However, I am a perfectionist when it comes to my work and I am not happy about not being able to produce work of a good standard. Recently I have been so overwhelmed that I often became emotional at work. I am worried about some of the clauses on the form: The purpose of an occupational health assessment is: 1. to offer you advice and support 2. to assess your fitness to work 3. to assess any adjustments required to accommodate your health problem or disability, and 4. to ensure health and safety at work or that of others Once all the necessary information is gathered a written report is sent to your manager and copied to Human Resources (HR). The report will focus on the functional impact of your condition, rather than needing to give specific diagnoses. The report may : 1. advise on your work capacity 2. recommendations on workplace adjustments, if necessary. 3. A statement restricting you from undertaking some or all of the duties required of your post, if you have significant health problems. If this is the case a statement will be made of suitable alternative tasks you could undertake. I am worried they are trying to say that I have health isues and that I am unfit to work in order to ask me to leave. Any advice on this would be highly appreciated. Thank you. Thank you, Wayne. However, I have been in my job for less than 2 month and my appointment was conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory medical questionnaire, which I supplied when I first started. Can the OHA referral hinder my chances of keeping the job?
Health Jobs......? I am currently a massage therapist but I want to go further myself in something of a higher position. I am thinking about going to become a Occupational Therapist. But I am not sure if I want to spend 5 yrs in school. I am 21 and married and hoping to start a family. I am looking for something that of course helps people with a good pay. Anyone know of any?
Occupational Health Visit? Hey i've been offered a job in a local council doing computer support, but yesterday i recieved a letter about an appointment i had to attend to see the Occupation Health Nurse for a check up. As its only a computer based job what sort of things will they be checking for do you think? Someone said it was just for the pension scheme and it would likely be a chat, but does anyone know better? If i fail it could they retract their offer of a job? Thanks
Careers: Mental Health Counseling or Occupational Therapy? Right now I am at a cross roads in terms of career paths. I have been accepted to a graduate program in Mental Health Counseling and another program in Occupational Therapy. I am not sure which program I should choose. I REALLY enjoy counseling. I would really love to help individuals with mental illnesses (depression/anxiety disorders), issues with self-esteem and relationship issues. For this reason, I applied to a graduate program in Mental Health Counseling. I have been accepted to the program and am very excited! A year ago I started having doubts about whether counseling was a good profession to pursue because I was hearing a little too many negative remarks from people within this field saying that "you will not get paid that well considering you had to work for a Masters", "I had to leave the profession because I was having a hard time paying back my loans" "I wasn't making enough money to live so I had to choose another career". These remarks planted the seed of doubt in me. I began looking for another profession that I would probably like, that has good job prospects/in demand, that pays well, and that takes less time to become licensed. I did my research and found occupational therapy to be a good fit. I picked occupational therapy because of the mental health component that is involved in this field. I am very much interested in mental health and for this reason I applied to an occupational therapy program. Now that I have the option of pursuing a career in occupational therapy, I am scared to go down that path because I am scared that I will realize too late that I pursued a career because of security (good job prospects/well paid jobs) and not because of my passion and vision. Who knows, maybe I can still accomplish my visions using an occupational therapy approach. However, I don't know this for obvious reasons. Perhaps you can give me some guidance based on your experiences as an OT AND an MHC. Any information, tips, advice, ANYTHING you can do to help me would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Are Occupational Health Assessors Lovely Folk? OK, so a slightly facetious question but I've got a job offer for something that I'll love doing, leading me out of my current job which I hate. I'm being bullied at the moment, so a change of job is exactly what I need. The only thing is that I have an Occy Health Assessment and a form, which requires me to list all my absences for the past 3 years. I've had quite a few, though mainly these were caused by the physical (manual) nature of my current job, and I disclosed one of them (for 10 weeks) at the interview and they said, 'well, working here, that wouldn't be a problem.' So, positive spin by them, etcetcetc, followed by a call the next day offering me the job. I also had 4 weeks off with depression about 2 years ago, but got out of that with CBT, positive thinking and making real changes in my life. I'm not on any medication for anything at all, and barring work-related injuries, haven't had any absence due to 'ill-health' in that time. But I'm still terrified - advice, please! Ta
What can I expect from Occupational Health? I have been referred to OH through management, apparently there is concern about the way I have been at work. The couple past couple of years I have had a few stressful events that I have made feel rundown, bereavement, job changes, family issues, my recent job as much I do love it (nursing) I have found it stressful. It really has all made me feel exhausted, down and feel like giving up on everything. I have expressed that I want to leave my job but there is always someone constantly telling me otherwise giving me a reason to stay in my job. I was originally asked permission to be referred I agreed but later on I was told that it was an appointment that I cant refuse. What can I expect from an appointment? Will this go against me at work? I have never taken time off work for ill health other than when I came into work and I was sent home because I obviously unwell from flu. I have started to take antidepressants which have been really helpful

What is a good job for me in Health Care? I am 16, and am thinking of jobs I would like to have. I enjoy health class, and don't mind science or math, so I was thinking of going into Health Care. Only problem is, I can't stand blood. I have thought of being an Occupational or Physical Therapist. Are you an O.T. or P.T.? Or do you have any other job ideas that would suit me? Thank you!
1. State the Null Hypothesis and Alternative Hypothesis, 2. Determine the test statistic? 3. Determine the P-value, 4. Make a decision about the hypothesis Q: According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, job stress poses a major threat to the health of workers. A national survey of restaurant employees found that 75% said that job stress had a negative mpact on their personal lives. A sample of 100 employees of a restaurant chain finds that 68 answer "Yes" when asked: "Does job stress have a negative impact on your personal life?" Is this good reaon to think that the proportion of all employees of this chain who would say "Yes" differs from the national proportion, p(0)=.75? Use a 5% level of significance.
Can any HEALTH RELATED Degrees be done online? Anything varying from speech pathology to occupational therapy to health admin. Can any be done online and will u be able to get a good paying job afterwards?? Thanks
Can anyone tell me long it takes to get a start date for a job on the NHS? I recently was verbally offered a job as a health care support worker in theatres at a local hospital. I recieved a disclosure and occupational health form a week later and sent them back the same day. I have already underwent a disclosure scotland check a few months ago, so that shouldn't take long? Just wondering if anyone could take me how long approx. to arrange a start date? Thanks.
Should I go for Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Counseling? I'm in the process of looking at graduate programs and my first choice was Mental Health Counseling. However, after finding out about the the requirements to become licensed, about the politics in this field, about the job prospects (everyone wants an LCSW) and the pay, I'm starting to feel as though it might not be worth my time, energy, and money. After doing research on the field of Occupational Therapy, it seems to me that it would make more sense for me to pursue this field. I know that any field I pursue, I want to be in doing something that is meaningful and that will make a positive impact on the lives of others. I want to pursue a career that fits well with my personality, with what I like, and a career that is in demand and pays well. I want to pragmatic in my choices. Can anyone give me any advice on what choice of career would be better? Thanks!
Will I be able to get my first occupational therapy job 2/3 years after qualifying? If anyone could give me some serious answers I would be very grateful! I have just qualified as an occupational therapist and registered in the UK (July 2008). I randomly applied for lots of jobs after uni (there were and still are no OT jobs available in my area) and have been offered a job with a major airline as cabin crew! A very different line of work! I am unsure of whether to do this for a couple of years, as it sounds fun, and if this decision will leave me struggling to get a newly qualified post as an occupational therapist down the line... If I do go for the OT route straight away and don't join the airline I am planning to gain employment in Australia and move there. There are jobs with Queensland Health for newly qualified OT's who want to work in mental health, and they will be recruiting lots of staff until 2011. Any advice would be much appreciated!! Thanks! x
Is OHS a good field to move into job wise? I'm looking at doing some courses to become qualified as an Occupational Health & Safety Professional. How many job opportunities are there in this field and how long do you think entry level (qualified) positions will be around for? I dont want to jump on the boat and find out its full when im finished. I'm looking for answers specific to australia.
Is anyone currently an occupational therapist working in mental health? I am preparing to attend the two year associate degree program for occupational therapist assistant and was wondering if any one who is a COTA is currently working in this particular area of expertise? Do you like your job? Can you easily find work in this area? is the pay relatively decent? what can someone fresh out of school expect to make? I know this is a lot of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated. oh, and I should mention years ago I worked in mental health as rehabilitation assistant so I am familiar with the job I had the hardest one.
I want to become an Occupational Therapist... should I major in public health as an undergrad first? I want to become an Occupational Therapist but I need a bachelor's degree to get accepted into the program. I was thinking about getting a bachelor's degree in Community Public Health and then go into Occupational Therapy. As long as I have the prerequisites for OT, I'm good to go. I want to have a solid bachelor's degree as a back up in case I'm not able to pursue more education right away. Could I get a good job with a bachelor's in public health?
Which is the right job for me: occupational therapy or physical therapy? I am a certified massage therapist. I enjoy helping others, but want to be able to do more. Frustrated that I can't offer more tips on how to manage their health. HOWEVER, I am also very creative, love helping others reach their full potential. If I can't be creative, I'd be dissatisfied.
Which allied health professions have the most jobs available? I live in Nebraska so the job market supposedly isn't as bad as it is in the rest of the country, but jobs are still extremely hard to find! I'm interested in going into the medical field, but I don't want anything that requires hardcore med school. I also don't want to be a nurse. The most appealing career to me is radiological technology, but I heard it's really hard to find jobs doing that? Is it any easier to find jobs in similar fields, like the following? Phlebotomy Vascular Sonography Cardiovascular Sonography Multispeciality Sonography Physical Therapy Assisting Occupational Therapy Assisting Cardiovascular Technology Repiratory Care/Therapy Medical Imaging I'm most interested in the radiological technology and medical imaging, but I would say I'm very interested in sonography as well. The other specialties I still need to look into a bit more. I'm pretty sure I don't want to be a phlebotomist but I am interested in knowing the job outlook for that as well. I would love to find something with a great job outlook. I heard the "bls.gov" site doesn't always paint a clear picture of what jobs are actually available, so please don't use that site as a source! I would prefer answers from people who have looked for jobs in the field, or know people who have. Thanks!
What area in working for the federal government can a major in Health Science/Public Health be? I am majoring in Health Science, concentration in Health Services Administration. I checked out the Occupational Outlook online and it states that medical and health services managers can work for the federal government for an earning of $87,200. What kind of job would this be? Would it be at best for me to get a masters in Public Health?
How do I get a job as a clinical research associate? I have a BSN (but am no longer an RN). I have astrong background in policy and procedure writing and adherence to governement standards due to my background in occupational health. So just how, exactly does one get a job as a clinical research associate. It seems that everyone wants experience before they hire you.

Im applying for a job on as a mental health support worker, should I mention my own mh probs? ...in my supporting statement when talking about why I want to do the job etc, or is it better to just leave it out. I've worked as a support worker for the past 7 years and am now applying for work in the city I've just moved to. I've never mentioned my mental health problems in my actual application forms before, only on the occupational health questions. My mental health has been pretty much stable for a long time, and Im thinking it might give a better picture on why Im passionate about this area of work. Thanks in advance :)

Is Occupational Therapy a good career? I am considering this as a career. Also, are there many OT mental health jobs in the U.S.?
Ta
Where can I find shipboard injury statistics? I remember when I went to a Maritime Academy, they used to feed us all these statistics about how many injuries (incidents) there were for each shipboard job. I'm taking an Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene course and I was looking for these numbers and I can't find it ANYWHERE. HELP!!!!
Pre-occupational therapy? So i'm currently a nursing student but feel that I will not be able to handle the needles and blood. I am very interested in going into occupational therapy or health promotion/public health. My school offers a degree in psychology and a minor in health. Along with taking the required pre-reqs for a masters in OT (anatomy, sociology etc.) and completing observation hours, do you think I will be qualified to get into Occupational Therapy school? or a job in public health? if you have any information on either of these careers please let me know because the semester is ending soon and I need to decide on my classes for next semester! :(
What is a health statement? I'm applying for a job with a council, and the application pack says that if shortlisted I will be required to complete a health statement with an Occupational Health Adviser. What does this entail? I'm just a little worried because I'm not as healthy as I should be, although I don't have any conditions that effect my everyday life (that I know of) Thanks for your help

He did some research and found out that the college is not nationally accredited. Does this mean he cannot get a job with the course when he's done even if this trade is in high demand?

Is anyone currently working in the mental health fields as an occupational therapist assistant? I am preparing to attend the two year associate degree program for occupational therapist assistant and was wondering if any one who is a COTA is currently working in this particular area of expertise? Do you like your job? Can you easily find work in this area? is the pay relatively decent? what can someone fresh out of school expect to make? I know this is a lot of questions but any help would be greatly appreciated. oh, and I should mention years ago I worked in mental health as rehabilitation assistant so I am familiar with the job I had the hardest one. AP actually OT's do work in mental health. They develop plans to achieve more independents in the clients life. this may be something simple such as helping someone who is profoundly retarded learn how to feed their self, to something more extensive such as pulling wire at a "workshop"
Disclosing mental health problems to an NHS employer? I have been offered a job in the NHS. Its part-time clerical work. But its a provisional offer. They have to do background checks till the offer is confirmed. I have to fill out an Occupational Health form as well. And it asks me whether I've had therapy. Should I mention it? I am wondering if I should. I did see a psychatrist a few years ago and had CBT to help me with my self-esteem and social anxiety issues. And I also plan to see one again. I don't want to hide anything but I was wondering if it affect my chances. I also used to have convulsions and had epleptic medication but that was only up until I was four years old... is it really important to mention that?

Do you think the answer is no to this job? Well I was told in the appointment letter that if I am successful then I would be asked to fill out occupational health forms but they didn't ask. They said they'll get back to me in two days and if not then I should assume I didn't get the job. The interview was today.

Any Experts on Health Care Careers? Okay, here's my deal. I graduated with a BS in health care administration from a good university. I did very well in all my classes and completed internships in public health policy and information technology. Now that I graduated, I'm having difficulty finding a job in health care administration. I'm not being picky; I have applied to several data entry and clerk position to get my foot in the door. This experience has given me change of heart with health care administration. I want to be in health care helping people. However, I want to develop a specific skill. I believe this will better suit me in today's rapidly changing job market. According to a career counselor, I have an ISTJ (Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging) personality. I have great attention to detail and have excellent written/verbal communication. I like when things are not routine and seeing results firsthand. Some health careers that I thought might appeal to me are physician assistant and occupational therapist. I would appreciate and input and/or ideas. Thanks!

Would mentioning my health be of benefit? Hi, I am an Occupational Therapist specializing in mental health and I am looking at applying for a new job in a newly opening private psychiatric hospital. I have bipolar and in the past had an eating disorder and self harmed. I have however managed to work at my current job well and with minimal sick time for 3 years now and feel comfortable and happy with my meds and relaxing time. Do you think it would be a help or a hindrance to mention my personal experience with mental health in the interview for this new job. Do you think they will see this as meaning I have better insight and empathy, or see me as a potential time bomb of illness? Advice is gratefully received.

Health and Social Care coursework helpp? You need A-levels or something equivalent to get into the higher of further education also and take an approved, pre-registration degree. But if you are a mature applicant you could get away with other qualifications and experience, more likely if you are already in the experienced assistant range or you have other work experience from working in the NHS. The most common route to health professions is the three or four year university course. But some courses for occupational therapy and physiotherapy allow trainees that are in employment to combine part-time study with practical work. In a pre registration course some jobs you can get are – physiotherapists, occupational therapists, podiatrists, speech and language therapist, prosthetics and more. help please ii want the advantages and disadvantages of that ? helpx
Just been diagnosed with BPD, devastated? Just last year, I asked my doctor to refer me to the psychiatrist to see if I could get the possible diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder off my health records. Previously, I had had quite a stressful few years as a teen, as my psychiatrist has just been through with me now. Started using the services in 2001 when I was 14 and throughout the years, things gradually got worse- from abusing solvents, lashing out at my parents, to finally being sectioned at 18 under the Mental Health Act. Things got a bit better then as I picked myself up and started a relationship, did well in college, got my grades and eventually getting to where I want to be. I am 22, and have a great ambition in life to become a doctor. I work part time as a bank nursing assistant and enjoy my job, even though shifts are in short supply. Now I think I may as well drop my dreams! I work hard and am doing so to get my final grade for university, but it scares me if people find out about the diagnosis, I will be discriminated against, lose my job and worse, never have kids incase I pass the disorder onto them. The psychiatrist was very understanding and helpful, but insisted I start receiving Dialetic(?) Behaviour Therapy. Thing is, part of me wants to forget I even have this, as I feel like I have been told I have an incurable disease. I told him I didnt want to start the therapy; it's based where I work at the psychiatric hospital, and I am scared colleagues will see me and comment. There is so much discrimination already against patients with PD; I often sit in meetings and the nurses gossip and snigger about Patient X with BPD attention seeking. I really dont want that. Also, I feel like I have wasted alot of my life doing nothing, and want to just get out there and get to uni and follow my dreams. I feel very upset, and have been unable to stop crying since I came home, as it feels like the end of the world. I dont want to tell anyone, but am frightened when it comes to filling in the health check for uni, I will HAVE to put down I have BPD. I once put in a health form for a previous job I had depression and the occupational health department hounded me for ages afterwards, querying it. I dont want to go through that again. Please help. Many thanks.
